Robin Uthappa, former India cricketer, highlighted that Jasprit Bumrah tends to lose rhythm when desperate to take wickets, especially evident during the second T20I against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
"Bumrah tends to lose his rhythm and discipline when he becomes desperate for wickets, which was evident during India's modest defense of 125."
India scored only 125 runs, with Bumrah taking two wickets for 26 runs in four overs. Australia chased the target in under 14 overs, leading 1-0 in the series.
Uthappa emphasized that trying too hard to pick up wickets early can cause bowlers like Bumrah to become wayward, reducing their effectiveness. Despite his success in taking wickets, Bumrah was not at his usual composed best.
Uthappa noted that Bumrah's occasional waywardness stems from his eagerness to strike early, which affects his consistency and control on the field.
Robin Uthappa suggests that Jasprit Bumrah's aggressive pursuit of wickets sometimes compromises his rhythm and accuracy, as seen during the second T20I at MCG.
