Perodua's Electric Vehicle Pilot Production Begins
Perodua's president and CEO, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, announced that pilot production of the company's first electric vehicle (EV) has started at its Rawang base.
The launch of the EV is expected to happen before the end of the year, with a price target of "maximum RM80k".
Additionally, Perodua aims to produce 2.5k units per month and achieve 50% local content in 2026.
