Flinders Port Holdings Debuts Custom-Built Float at Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) is celebrating maritime trade's essential role by entering a specially designed float in this year's National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. The event takes place on Saturday, 8 November, starting at 9:30 am with the traditional golden whistle signaling the beginning.

Celebrating Maritime Trade and Festive Joy

Since 1933, the Christmas Pageant has marked the start of the festive season in South Australia, attracting thousands of spectators from all ages along the city streets. FPH expressed excitement about their participation, sharing on social media that they were “thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float.”

"Our float celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year."

Unique Features of the FPH Float

The float is notable as the first custom-built pageant entry in five years, featuring a replica of an FPH Pilot boat. It also showcases a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves busy checking Christmas gifts.

"The blue fabric ruffle below adds the perfect finishing touch, creating the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding through water."

Launch and Participation

The float was officially launched at Outer Harbor recently, with some FPH elves joining in the festivities to bring the concept to life and add to the Christmas spirit.

Author's summary: Flinders Port Holdings' first custom float in five years creatively highlights maritime trade’s importance in delivering festive cheer to South Australia during the iconic Christmas Pageant.
