The winner of The Celebrity Traitors, Alan Carr, faced questions about the emotional fallout of betraying his friend and co-star, Paloma Faith. The tense moment became one of the biggest talking points of the BBC series.
Alan described the act of deceiving Paloma as deeply painful. Speaking live on the spin-off show Uncloaked, he apologized directly to the singer.
“It was awful. So awful, and weird because I love Paloma. I'm a fan of her music, I've been a fan of her for ages and we're friends, it absolutely, really hurt.”
Paloma, who had been "murdered" earlier in the series by the Traitors, was devastated to discover that Alan was behind her elimination. Her shock and anger became a recurring theme, with other contestants repeatedly asking how Alan could have betrayed her.
During Thursday’s final episode, after being announced the winner and securing prize money for charity, Alan became emotional, admitting he struggled with guilt over the deception.
Alan told Paloma live on air that he was “so sorry.”
Paloma shared her sadness but eventually expressed understanding, acknowledging why Alan deserved the win despite the betrayal.
Alan Carr’s victory on The Celebrity Traitors came with emotional weight as he publicly apologized to Paloma Faith for betraying her, describing the experience as painful yet transformative.
