The NHS has issued a flu jab alert, urging people in England to get vaccinated now with only weeks left before the peak flu season. Eligible adults are encouraged to receive their vaccination promptly to ensure protection before the winter surge.
This year, flu cases have appeared more than a month earlier than usual, with numbers tripling compared to the same time last year. The NHS stresses the importance of early vaccination to help curb this early wave.
“The flu vaccination is the best possible way to protect yourself and your loved ones against flu as we move into the winter months. It’s a quick and easy painless injection and it really will help you keep yourself and your family well through winter.”
Allison Cannon, Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Sussex, shared the message after receiving her own flu jab and encouraged the community to take up the offer.
With an unusually early flu surge, the NHS strongly advises eligible adults to get vaccinated promptly to protect themselves and others during the approaching winter.
