Edinburgh Trams to Commemorate Remembrance Day
Edinburgh Trams will honor Remembrance Sunday (9 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) to pay respect to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, and recent conflicts.
Free Travel for Veterans and Serving Personnel
To recognize the sacrifices of the armed forces, Edinburgh Trams will offer free travel on both days to veterans and active members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Eligible passengers can use this privilege by presenting their military ID or wearing their uniform.
Remembrance Activities and Observance
- Before the commemorations, Poppy Scotland representatives will be at the Haymarket tram stop selling poppies for those wishing to support the cause.
- Poppies will also be displayed in tram windows throughout the observance period.
- Where safety allows, tram services will pause at 11 a.m. to observe a two-minute silence on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
