Prince Harry apologises to Canada for wearing LA Dodgers cap at World Series

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has apologised to Canada for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers cap while attending a World Series game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Duke and his wife, Meghan, were photographed at the baseball match last Tuesday. The Blue Jays ultimately lost to the Dodgers in the seventh-game decider on Sunday.

Prince Harry’s explanation

“Firstly, I would like to apologise to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn’t much choice.”

Speaking to Canadian broadcaster CTV, Harry said he wore the Dodgers gear “under duress” after being invited to the team’s dugout by the owner. He added that it felt like the polite thing to do.

“When you’re missing a lot of hair on top, and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available.”

The Duke joked about his thinning hair and the bright lights in the stadium, saying practicality was also part of his decision.

Light-hearted reflection

“Game five, game six, game seven — I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I’ve admitted that, it’s going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles.”

Harry humorously reassured Canadian fans of his loyalty to Toronto, even while wearing the opposing team’s cap, acknowledging that his confession might not go over well in Los Angeles.
