The University of Toronto community will come together on November 11 to honor Remembrance Day, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Events are scheduled across all three campuses to pay tribute to soldiers and veterans from the First and Second World Wars and other conflicts.
Flags will be lowered to half-mast at U of T’s St. George, Scarborough, and Mississauga campuses as a sign of respect for those who have served, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Service of Remembrance will be held at Soldiers’ Tower. The program begins at 10:10 a.m. with a carillon recital performed by composer Naoko Tsujita, followed by the official ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m.
