Tish Hyman, a 42-year-old singer, said her membership at a Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles was terminated after she confronted a man using the women’s locker room.
Hyman shared a video showing her confronting the individual, who was dressed in all black. She described how the man followed her into the locker room and insulted her in an angry voice.
“Today as I walked into the locker room he came in behind me and called me a b*tch in a deep angry voice. I RAN OUT INTO THE GYM SCREAMING THERE IS A MAN IN THE REST ROOM!!”
She called for help, and gym members intervened, leading the staff to finally take action.
Hyman reported repeatedly submitting written complaints about the man harassing women in the locker room, but she said the gym staff ignored her.
“I had repeatedly made written reports on this man for coming into our women’s locker room harassing us, and the gym staff has done absolutely nothing!!”
“He has disrespected me multiple times, and I’ve only been ignored when I quietly reported it. But today I made noise!!”
In the video, after the confrontation, Hyman is heard demanding that the man be banned from the gym:
“Now he knows how to be a man, right? Stay outta the women’s locker room! He needs to have his gym membership revoked for that s–t!”
Tish Hyman's experience reveals serious concerns about how a gym handled repeated reports of harassment in the women's locker room, culminating in her membership being revoked after she confronted the issue publicly.
