Actress Jennifer Lawrence, 35, appeared on The Tonight Show on Thursday and unexpectedly became very emotional several times, leaving host Jimmy Fallon visibly uneasy.
At the start of their conversation, Lawrence admitted she felt nervous and mentioned her recent New Yorker profile, in which she reflected on being “annoying” in interviews when she was younger.
"I was nervous," she confessed, adding that she felt she wasn’t going to "say a f***ing word" during the talk.
Fallon tried to lighten the moment by replying, “No, you have to say something!” but Lawrence suddenly broke into dramatic sobs, leaving the host clearly flustered.
Her first emotional outburst happened while she described how she got involved in her new movie Die My Love, a story about a young mother who gradually loses her sanity after moving to the countryside with her husband.
"[Director] Lynne Ramsay is someone I've always wanted to work with. So basically, she cracked it and she's a genius and… I can't believe I'm still talking!" said Lawrence.
During a tense and emotional Tonight Show interview, Jennifer Lawrence’s repeated tears left Jimmy Fallon visibly uncomfortable as she opened up about her nerves and her new film.
