DP World Tour golfers cleared for LIV qualifiers in 2026
Members of the DP World Tour will be allowed to participate in LIV Golf’s qualifying school in January without applying for a tournament release, as confirmed by a spokesperson to bunkered.
“DP World Tour members will not be required to apply for a tournament release if they wish to enter, provided there is no tournament clash,” the spokesperson stated.
LIV Golf Promotions details
The LIV Golf Promotions event will take place next January at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida. The four-day competition will span 72 holes, with the top two finishers earning full exemptions in the PIF-backed league for the 2026 season. Players will also gain entry into the 2026 International Series.
Participation opportunities
Since there are no DP World Tour or HotelPlanner events during that week, some tour players are expected to join the competition. The timing offers an open schedule for those aiming to secure a spot in the expanding LIV lineup.
Background and previous results
LIV Golf has hosted two promotions events since its 2022 debut. In 2023, Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent, and Jinichiro Kozuma qualified for the league. The following year, only one player—Max Lee—earned promotion, but organizers have confirmed the number of qualifying spots will return to two for the 2026 event.
Additionally, the top two players from the International Series standings will receive full-time LIV Golf contracts.
