English golfer Eddie Pepperell competes this week at INFINITUM in Tarragona, aiming to secure his place through the DP World Tour Final Stage Qualifying School for the second time in his career.
The Qualifying School Final Stage consists of six rounds. Each participant plays two rounds on the Lakes Course and two on the Hills Course at INFINITUM. The top 60 players and ties then advance to the final two rounds, both held on the Lakes Course.
Pepperell previously passed the demanding six-round test in 2016 and went on to win twice on the DP World Tour. The 34-year-old advanced through the Second Stage at Fontanals Golf Club just four days ago. This is his second consecutive appearance at INFINITUM, after narrowly missing a Tour card there last year.
“I was in quite a different place last year,” he said. “This year I feel a bit more relaxed and refreshed, with more energy. I don’t think I’ll feel as tense tomorrow on the first tee.”
“I played quite well last week. At times I hit it well tee to green, which was encouraging. Having competed last week is definitely a positive.”
“Obviously, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Historically, when I’ve played Q-School, I’ve settled into it as the week goes on. On the final day, when more is at stake, there’s tension in the air — that’s the beauty of Q-School.”
Pepperell returns to the DP World Tour Qualifying School with renewed confidence, hoping experience and recent form guide him back onto the Tour.
