Riley Keough's mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away on January 12, 2023. Since then, Keough has co-finished her memoir and experienced signs she believes are approval from her late mother.
Riley is preparing to honor the third anniversary of Lisa Marie's death. Despite her mother no longer being physically present, Keough feels a continued, unexplainable connection with her. This bond especially grew while co-writing her memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown.
At the Academy x Chanel Women’s Luncheon on November 4, Keough shared with PEOPLE that she senses her mother’s approval of the memoir:
“I think if you're open to those things, they're kind of everywhere.”
She finished the memoir in 2023 after Lisa Marie's passing and continues to feel connected to “whatever that world may be.”
Keough described some moments as “too weird to not be something,” though she did not reveal specifics. These experiences will appear in the afterword of the paperback edition of her book, releasing on November 11, 2025.
This isn’t the first time Riley has sensed the supernatural, a trait she seemingly inherited from her mother. Lisa Marie, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, was just nine years old when Elvis died and reportedly sensed his impending passing.
"Leading up to his passing, she seemed to sense what was coming."
Author’s summary: Riley Keough feels ongoing supernatural signs from her late mother Lisa Marie, highlighting a deep connection that inspired her memoir’s completion and upcoming edition.
