Heavy flames and thick smoke are rising from a two-alarm fire in North Baltimore. Firefighters have evacuated the building and are now conducting defensive operations to control the blaze.
Baltimore City firefighters responded Friday afternoon to the fire at a building on 23rd Street, east of the Jones Falls Expressway.
The Maryland Transit Administration has put in place a temporary southbound detour for the LocalLink 94-Fort McHenry bus route, which will remain effective until 5 p.m.
