During the world premiere of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things in Los Angeles, co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer addressed the viral report alleging that Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of bullying on set.
"Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy," said Ross Duffer while standing with his brother Matt.
Despite the rumors, both Brown and Harbour appeared cordial and smiling as they posed together on the red carpet Thursday night. The event came amid a press tour promoting the final season that began earlier in the week.
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy also commented on the claims, calling parts of the viral report “wildly inaccurate.” When asked about handling potential workplace misconduct, Levy emphasized the importance of respect on set.
"At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so," Levy explained.
Both the Duffer Brothers and Levy reiterated their commitment to maintaining a positive work atmosphere for the cast and crew.
The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy strongly denied any bullying on the Stranger Things set, emphasizing respect, safety, and a family-like bond among the show’s long-time cast.
