Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou, 37, who collaborated with actor Jeremy Renner, 54, on a documentary and an animated film, has accused him of inappropriate behavior and threats during their professional work.
Yi Zhou claimed that Renner sent her explicit photographs and pornographic videos in an attempt to gain her affection. She also alleged that his erratic and drunken behavior made her fear for her safety.
According to Zhou, the incident occurred at Renner’s home during a meeting about their film project. She stated that Renner drank an entire bottle of wine and became increasingly aggressive, shouting for hours.
“I was discussing the documentary logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angry, yelling for two hours,” Zhou said.
Fearing for her safety, Zhou reportedly shared her location with her team, parents, and colleagues at Disney.
“I had to lock myself in a room to be safe, praying he would not come into the room at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word; I was so scared for my life,” she added.
Zhou made these accusations public on Instagram and expanded on them in an interview with the Daily Mail, stating that Renner later threatened to contact immigration authorities after their fallout.
