Former Watertown Broadcaster Jan Robson Wins Prestigious Award

Jan Robson, a former broadcaster from Watertown, has been awarded the 2025 South Dakota Broadcasters Association Distinguished Service Award.

The award was presented at the annual state leadership conference in Sioux Falls, recognizing Robson's decades of achievement in the broadcasting industry.

The SDBA Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual whose life’s work has enriched the broadcasting industry, inspired its commercial advertisers or who has nurtured their community.

Robson began her broadcast career in Huron at KOKK after graduating from the Brown Institute in Minneapolis in 1979. She then worked at KMSD in Milbank and KWAT & KIXX in Watertown, before joining KXLG in 2009 as one of the station's first hires.
