The Pantone Palette Generator, currently in beta, is designed to help designers quickly find the perfect colour palettes by integrating a chat-based interface within Pantone Connect, Pantone's digital platform for colour matching and trends.

This AI tool aims to reduce hours spent on research by allowing users to ask specific questions such as:
- “What colors evoke optimism in Gen Z?”
- “Show me palettes inspired by 1970s fashion editorials.”
Users receive palette suggestions based on these queries, which they can then download and share easily.
How the Palette Generator Works
The Palette Generator's results combine user input with Pantone's trend forecasting insights. Built on Microsoft Azure, it uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation technology, which pairs a large language model (LLM) with an information retrieval system to provide contextually relevant answers.
The Palette Generator “semantically searches Pantone’s Color Insider and trend forecasting articles to deliver palettes grounded in Pantone Color Institute insights,” the company explains.
Availability
During its open beta phase, the Palette Generator is accessible to all Pantone Connect users, including those with free basic accounts.
