Vertical has unveiled the trailer for Rosemead, an upcoming drama inspired by Frank Shyong’s intense 2017 LA Times column. Directed by Eric Lin, the film features Lucy Liu as a struggling mother facing difficult choices to protect her son.
The story follows Liu's character, an ailing mother who takes extreme measures to shield her troubled teenage son, portrayed by Lawrence Shou, from his darkening obsessions. As his behavior worsens, she confronts impossible decisions about how far she will go and what she must sacrifice.
Rosemead is set within the simmering tensions of a Chinese American community, presenting a compelling family drama pushed to its limits.
