The Canada postal strike has reached a critical stage as Canada Post faces rotating strikes in multiple provinces. These actions are causing delays in mail and parcel services during the busy holiday period.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), representing over 50,000 workers such as letter carriers, mail handlers, and plant staff, initiated the rotating strikes following months of unsuccessful contract talks with Canada Post.
“We’ve been patient for too long,” said CUPW national president Jan Simpson. “Our members deserve fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect for the critical public service they provide.”
The strike has caused significant disruptions in mail delivery in provinces including Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Alberta.
