Jeremy Allen White’s Unexpected Graduation

The Bear star Jeremy Allen White recently shared a touching story at the New York City premiere of his film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. During the event, an old teacher from his time at the Professional Performing Arts School surprised him with an unforgettable gift.

“I wasn’t a good student because I didn’t go to school enough,” he said on the Oct. 23 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, explaining that he never graduated.

After the film screening, his teacher handed him a wrapped present.

“I was like, ‘Ah, you don’t have to do this, what are you giving me a gift for?’ And I open it up, and it is my high school diploma. So at 34 years old, I graduated high school!”
