The global girl group KATSEYE, whose fame skyrocketed this year, received nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammys.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
KATSEYE is nominated alongside Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young in the Best New Artist category. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, introduced the category during the Grammy nomination announcement on Friday morning.
The past year marked significant growth for KATSEYE, who first gained attention through the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which documented their evolving journey from hopefuls to international performers. The group was created via the YouTube competition Dream Academy, designed to form the first global girl group through a collaboration between K-pop powerhouse Hybe and Geffen Records.
KATSEYE's Grammy nominations celebrate their rapid rise and the dedicated community supporting their evolving global success.
