Peloton Recalls Nearly 879,000 Bike+ Seat Posts Due to Safety Concerns

Peloton has voluntarily recalled 878,800 seat posts used in its Bike+ models after reports of injuries caused by broken seat posts during use. These metal parts support the bike seats and could fail, posing a risk of serious falls.

Scope of the Recall

Theffected units are Peloton Original Series Bike+ models with model number PL02 and serial numbers beginning with “T.” The serial number is located inside or behind the bike's front fork or behind the flywheel.

Manufacturing and Sales Period

The recalled bikes were manufactured from December 2019 through July 2022. They were sold on Peloton's website, Dick's Sporting Goods, Amazon, and eBay, both in stores and online, from January 2020 up to April 2025.

Reason for the Recall

Peloton initiated this recall after receiving three reports of seat post failures that caused injury to two users.

“The integrity of our products and our Members’ well-being are our top priorities,” said a Peloton spokesperson.

This recall highlights Peloton’s commitment to customer safety by proactively addressing mechanical issues that may lead to serious injuries.
