Rugged Schedule and Steph Curry’s Illness Force Warriors to Take Early Precautions

Head coach Steve Kerr has decided to rest point guard Steph Curry for Wednesday’s game in Sacramento due to illness. After the Warriors’ 118-107 win over Phoenix, Curry appeared unwell during his postgame press conference, complaining of a worsening cold that had lingered for several days.

Although Curry admitted the illness affected his performance, he initially did not exclude himself from playing the next night. However, Kerr quickly intervened, prioritizing Curry's health over optimism.

"I don’t care what the doctors say, we got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now, he’s not going to play tomorrow.”

The Warriors, currently with a 5-3 record, will also potentially be without star wing Jimmy Butler. Butler played through lower back soreness in the first half but aggravated the injury and was ruled out at halftime after just 14 minutes.
