As Bad Company prepares to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, their legendary frontman Paul Rodgers announced that he will not take part in the live performance. The ceremony, scheduled for November 8, marks decades of the band’s influential career.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.”
Formed in 1973, Bad Company united Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs, and Boz Burrell into one of rock’s most enduring supergroups. Over the decades, they produced chart-topping songs such as “Can’t Get Enough,” “Shooting Star,” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.” Their music has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and inspired generations of artists.
Drummer Simon Kirke and a lineup of accomplished musicians are expected to perform at the induction in Rodgers’ absence. Kirke has expressed gratitude for the recognition and admiration from younger artists who continue to cover Bad Company’s classics.
