Bad Company's Paul Rodgers Cannot Attend Rock Hall of Fame to Prioritize Health: 'I Have to Put Myself First'

Bad Company's Paul Rodgers Withdraws from Rock Hall Induction to Focus on Health

Paul Rodgers, founding member and frontman of Bad Company, announced on social media that he will not attend the band's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held on November 8. At 75 years old, Rodgers stated he must prioritize his health at this time.

"My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health," Rodgers wrote. "I have no problem singing, it's the stress of everything else."

Rodgers previously revealed on CBS Mornings that he suffered two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with 11 minor strokes. However, he did not provide additional details about his current health condition in his recent statement.

Meanwhile, longtime bandmate Simon Kirke, who has played with Rodgers in both Free and Bad Company, had shared plans to reunite with him on stage during the ceremony. Subsequently, Rodgers confirmed that Kirke would perform without him.

Simon Kirke had expressed intentions to reunite with Rodgers for the Rock Hall event on the podcast "Lyndsanity! with Lyndsey Parker."

Bad Company will not be reuniting as a full band for the induction ceremony due to Rodgers' health considerations.
