Days before this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers announced he will not attend due to health issues. The singer and guitarist shared this update on the band’s official Instagram.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,”
Rodgers clarified that while he can still sing, the overall stress of the event is too much. He added that drummer Simon Kirke and other talented musicians will perform in his place, promising a powerful show.
Bad Company is set to be inducted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles alongside artists such as Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, the White Stripes, Salt-N-Pepa, and others.
Simon Kirke, the band’s original drummer and co-founder, had previously confirmed that he and Rodgers planned to reunite on stage for the first time since 2019.
“I’m not at liberty to say which songs. I mean, quite honestly, I don’t give a shit.”
However, Rodgers’ withdrawal means the reunion will not happen as originally planned.
Paul Rodgers prioritizes his health over performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, leading to a change in Bad Company’s reunion plans.
