A woman and a child drowned after falling into a waterway in southeast Melbourne. The incident occurred around 3:45 pm on Monday at Dandenong Creek, near Allan Street in Dandenong.
According to police, the mother began struggling in the water while trying to save the child. Emergency responders arrived promptly and found both unconscious.
CPR was performed on the woman and child at the scene, but they could not be revived and were declared dead on site.
