Big Brother Australia's latest season on Network 10 has started with 12 housemates officially competing. The show aimed to feature "everyday Aussies," but one contestant stands out due to strong ties to other reality TV programs, sparking mixed reactions among fans.
November marked the return of Big Brother Australia to Network 10 and the Gold Coast’s Dreamworld, aiming to appeal both to long-time fans and attract a new audience. The casting emphasized selecting real Australians over influencers, avoiding familiar names from recent shows like Married At First Sight and Love Island.
At the season launch, fans were generally happy with the diverse cast competing for the $100,000 prize. However, observers soon discovered that one housemate, Holly Young, 31, a model who calls herself a “unicorn,” has notable reality TV connections.
According to Daily Mail Australia, Holly Young previously dated Gavin Rubinstein, known from Luxe Listings. Their relationship began publicly in August 2024 but ended a few months later.
“Major influencer vibes.”
These revelations have divided fans who question if the show truly stuck to its promise of everyday Australians or leaned into familiar faces from the reality TV circuit.
Big Brother Australia's 2025 season sparks debate as one housemate with past reality TV connections challenges the show's aim to cast only everyday Australians.
