A group from Scania’s Dandenong Branch has won the Australian National Top Team contest for the second consecutive year. They will travel to Bangkok in early 2026 to compete in the Asian Regional finals, aiming for one of two spots available for the World Finals in Sweden.
Seven teams from Scania’s Australian company-owned branches competed in the National Finals, after a knockout round that involved eight other teams nationwide.
“Top Team is a global Scania initiative that celebrates and develops the professionalism of our service teams, strengthening technical capability, efficiency, and collaboration within our workshops,” said Stefan Weber, Director of Aftersales at Scania Australia. The event took place at Scania’s Campbellfield head office in late October.
Team Dandenong secured overall first place again, led by team captain Chris Chilver. He noted that this year’s National Finals were the most challenging among the four he has competed in during his career.
“We had good team spirit; we weren’t put off if we had a low score from one of the stations when we went to the next one. It was evident that it was going to be a tough event, so we just buckled down. We allocated each team member to the tasks that best used their strengths. I think we worked quite well together,” Chris explained.
The Victorian team demonstrated resilience and strategic teamwork to maintain their title, showcasing Scania’s commitment to fostering skilled and efficient service teams through the Top Team program.
