Renowned Hollywood actress Sally Kirkland, aged 84, has entered hospice care following a series of severe health challenges over the past year. Her representative, Michael Greene, confirmed she is currently receiving care at a Palm Springs hospital after being diagnosed with dementia.
According to a GoFundMe campaign launched to support her medical expenses, Kirkland suffered multiple fractures and later developed serious infections. Despite ongoing treatments, her condition required hospitalizations and rehabilitation that exceeded the coverage provided by her insurance.
“This past year Sally fractured four bones in her neck, right wrist, and left hip. While recovering she developed two separate life-threatening infections,” states the fundraising page.
Greene shared, “She will not go until I’m holding her hand,” as he traveled from JFK to be by her side.
Her close friend and former student, Cody Galloway, is currently with Kirkland, offering comfort during her time in hospice.
