Stormy weather continues in Metro Vancouver, with more storms expected through the weekend. Unlike typical falls characterized by fewer, larger storms with breaks in between, this year sees smaller but more frequent storms hitting B.C.'s south coast. This means locals have limited opportunity to enjoy clear, crisp fall days.
Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor describes the Lower Mainland's weather as «довольно типичная осенняя погода», but notes most days include rain with little pause. A frontal system is bringing continuous moisture to Vancouver Island and southern B.C.
A rainfall warning is in effect for the North Shore due to a second frontal system arriving Thursday. This storm may add another 30–40 mm of rain by Friday morning.
“We'll see some decent 30 km/h winds, gusting to 50 km/h and up to 70 km/h in the Strait of Georgia,” Proctor said, warning that power outages are possible with strong gusts.
Pooled water is expected on roads and in low-lying areas, prompting caution for residents.
The ongoing rainy pattern with strong winds in Metro Vancouver could disrupt daily life, leading to power outages and hazardous road conditions.
