Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades in Wirral

Wirral will observe a moment of silence this Remembrance Sunday as communities come together to honour those who have fallen in service. Services will take place across the borough on Sunday, 9 November.

Civic Service Details

The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Brian Kenny, will lead the Civic Service at the Cenotaph in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead. The service begins at 10:55 am, with a two-minute silence at 11:00 am.

The traditional Service of Remembrance will be conducted by Reverend Paul Bentley, Vicar of Birkenhead Priory Parish and Rural Dean of Birkenhead. Readings and blessings will be delivered by The Right Reverend Julie Conalty, Bishop of Birkenhead, and Reverend Debbie Wilkinson, Wirral Waters Mission Lead.

The Mayor will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of the people of Wirral, alongside Deputy Lieutenant Sue Higginson OBE DL, representing His Majesty The King.
