High Lander and Thai Partners Launch National Drone Delivery Pilot in Bangkok

Thailand has made a significant advance by launching a national drone delivery pilot project in Bangkok. This initiative was led by Thailand’s National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and High Lander Aviation, a global provider of unmanned traffic management (UTM) solutions.

The New Era of Drone Delivery Event

The event, named The New Era of Drone Delivery, showcased large-scale aerial delivery operations in the capital city. It demonstrated Thailand’s commitment to building a national drone infrastructure capable of handling complex urban environments.

Technology and Collaboration

The pilot incorporated High Lander’s Vega UTM platform integrated with NT’s advanced 5G network, enabling real-time flight coordination and safety management. This integration allowed operators to monitor telemetry, obtain flight authorizations, and prevent airspace conflicts autonomously. The collaboration proved effective for managing drone traffic in a busy urban area.

Successful Deliveries

Throughout the demonstration, dozens of deliveries were completed successfully. These deliveries included medical supplies, agricultural products, and consumer goods, illustrating the versatility and potential of drone delivery systems.

“CAAT’s role is to regulate aviation safety and promote the advancement of the aviation industry. Supporting innovation and technological development in unmanned aircraft and related systems is a key part of our mission,” said Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the CAAT.
