Jetstar has announced its largest expansion at Melbourne Avalon Airport (AVV), introducing the airport’s first-ever international service to Bali while also reinstating flights to Adelaide and increasing frequencies to Brisbane.
Beginning March 23, 2026, Jetstar will operate five weekly round-trip flights between Melbourne Avalon and Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) using its Airbus A321LR fleet. This new route will offer more than 120,000 seats per year, connecting regional Victoria to one of Australia’s favorite overseas destinations.
Alongside the Bali route, Jetstar will resume services to Adelaide and boost capacity on the Brisbane line, collectively adding over 330,000 low-fare seats annually from Avalon Airport, Melbourne’s second major airport.
The expansion aims to enhance travel options for local passengers from Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula. It is also expected to attract more international visitors to Victoria’s western region.
“The Bali route marks Jetstar’s first international service from Melbourne Avalon, a milestone for the airport’s largest carrier.”
The flight duration will be slightly over six hours, giving travelers easy access to Bali’s beaches, cultural landmarks, and resorts.
Jetstar’s new Bali connection and expanded domestic network from Avalon Airport mark a major step in strengthening Victoria’s air travel options and boosting regional tourism.
