Free agent center Precious Achiuwa has agreed to a contract with the Sacramento Kings, as reported by Shams Charania of ESPN. Entering his sixth NBA season, Achiuwa will join the Kings after being waived by the Miami Heat before the 2025–26 season.
To accommodate Achiuwa's signing, the Kings plan to waive second-year center Isaac Jones. Jones, 25, averaged 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game during his two seasons with Sacramento.
Selected 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft, Achiuwa has played for the Heat, Raptors, and Knicks across five seasons. He has appeared in 320 regular-season games, averaging 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 20 minutes per game.
Last season, he appeared in 66 games with the New York Knicks, starting 10, and averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
“Several EuroLeague teams had also targeted the 26-year-old Achiuwa,” reported Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.
Precious Achiuwa's move to the Sacramento Kings marks an opportunity for him to revitalize his NBA career, while the Kings adjust their roster by releasing Isaac Jones.
