103 Morrisons Closures Across Cafes, Market Kitchens, Pharmacies, and Florists
Morrisons has revealed a comprehensive list of closures, marking a significant phase in its corporate restructuring. The company has already closed 17 of its smaller Morrisons Daily convenience stores as part of the process.
Details of the Closures
- 103 cafes, florists, and pharmacies will shut down.
- More than 50 cafes and 13 florists are affected.
- Four pharmacies and all 18 Market Kitchens are included in the closure list.
- Additionally, 35 meat counters and 35 fish counters are expected to close permanently.
Management Statement
“In some stores where we are closing counters or Cafés, we plan to work with third parties to provide a relevant specialist offer,” said Rami Baitiéh, Chief Executive of Morrisons.
“Although these changes are relatively small in the context of the overall scale of the Morrisons business, we do not take lightly the disruption and uncertainty they will cause to some of our colleagues.”
Timeline
All Morrisons Daily stores, except one, were closed on April 16. The final branch in Haxby, North Yorkshire, followed less than a month later on May 14.
