Frasier actor Kelsey Grammer, 70, has shared how his children responded to the arrival of his newborn son, Christopher, born in October. The actor said his family, including younger children Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8, with wife Kayte Walsh, as well as Spencer, 41, Greer, 33, Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, from previous relationships, are delighted about the new addition.
“We’re all really having a great time. It’s really lovely,”
he told People magazine, describing how joyful the family has been since Christopher’s arrival.
Grammer also expressed how fulfilling it has been to become a father again at this stage of his life.
“We are closer than we’ve ever been as a family, and I’m proud of that.”
In late October, he announced that he and his fourth wife, Kayte, had welcomed their new baby boy.
“Just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids! Christopher just joined the family,”
he said during an appearance on the podcast Pod Meets World.
The actor, known for his enduring role as Frasier Crane, enjoys spending time with his children, especially when they can all gather together. Recently, he shared the screen with his daughter Kandace on the Frasier revival and with his son Spencer in the TV film The 12 Days of Christmas Eve.
“My work has allowed me to do that. I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic — all those things. And I want to pass that on to them.”
