Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Hazbin Hotel season 2, episode 4.
The second season of the adult animated series Hazbin Hotel has become an immediate streaming success, offering deeper insight into key characters. Every new episode adds meaningful developments, especially “Behind Closed Doors” and “It’s a Deal,” which expose critical details about Angel Dust and Alastor.
This season finally uncovers the mysterious origin of the Radio Demon. His frightening abilities make more sense now, as it’s revealed that he once struck a pact with the Hellborn demon Rosie. This deal granted him unmatched strength among the sinners of Hell.
By the end of the latest episode, however, Alastor forms another surprising agreement — this time with Vox — adding a new layer of intrigue to his story. The terms of this deal imply that earlier creator statements about Alastor may not have been entirely truthful.
Shortly after the premiere of Hazbin Hotel season 1 on Prime Video, creator Vivienne Medrano and the cast held a live Q&A on the Vivziepop YouTube channel. During the session, Medrano commented on Alastor’s relationship with Charlie.
She explained that Alastor’s supposed fatherly attitude in the song “Hell’s Greatest Dad” was not genuine but rather an intentional act to irritate Lucifer, making the demonic patriarch uneasy.
This reinterpretation of their dynamic aligns with season 2’s exploration of Alastor’s manipulative tendencies and deceptive motives.
Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel reveals deeper truths about Alastor’s demonic deals, suggesting that Vivienne Medrano’s past comments may have concealed key aspects of his character.
