Marc Marquez has undergone surgery on his right shoulder blade after a crash in Indonesia.
After a checkup, the medical team found that the coracoid fracture and ligament damage were not stabilizing sufficiently.
As a result, surgical stabilisation and repair of the acromioclavicular ligaments were performed at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid, Spain.
The surgery was one of the options considered by doctors from the outset in the event that the planned conservative treatment failed.
Marquez is now back at home with recovery underway.
