The Alexandria girls swimming and diving team competed in the Section 8AA true team championship at Brainerd High School on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Cardinals placed seventh out of eight teams, scoring 808.5 points, and claimed two top-eight finishes in the 12 events, including a runner-up placement.
According to head coach Mark Storhaug, the competition is where everyone scores points and is a measure of not just how talented the teams are up front, but how deep they are.
Hannah Hoff secured a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of one minute, 3 seconds.
The Cardinals earned eight season-best results on Saturday, with host Brainerd winning the title with four victories in individual events, finishing with 1,361 points.
