Governor Denies Clemency for Man Convicted of Killing Missouri Trooper
Mike Kehoe has denied clemency for a man convicted of killing a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper two decades ago.
On March 20, 2005, Lance Shockley ambushed and killed Sergeant Carl DeWayne Graham, Jr. while he was investigating the death of Jeffrey Bayless.
- Shockley was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol at the time.
- He shot Sgt. Graham from behind with a rifle, severing his spinal cord and paralyzing him.
- Shockley then delivered fatal shotgun blasts to Graham's face and shoulder.
