Doug Lebda, LendingTree Founder, Dies in Tragic ATV Accident

Doug Lebda, the CEO and founder of LendingTree, died in an ATV accident on his family farm in North Carolina, the company announced on Monday.

Lebda was 55 years old and is survived by his wife and three daughters, Rachel, Abby, and Sophia.

"The news of losing Doug was devastating," said Scott Peyree, who has been appointed as the new CEO.

Peyree, who served as the chief operating officer and president, will take over as CEO effective immediately. He praised Lebda's legacy, noting that one of his most immediate impacts was the strong management team he put in place at LendingTree.

LendingTree confirmed that Lebda died on Sunday and stated that the company "deeply mourns his passing."
