Tembisa Hospital Corruption

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has secured assets worth approximately R133.5 million in relation to corruption at Tembisa Hospital.

This includes luxury items such as a Sandhurst property, three Lamborghinis, two Aston Martins, a Ferrari, and a Rolls Royce.

The SIU obtained an order to preserve R900 million worth of assets, with the initial preservation of R133.5 million in assets occurring on the first day of the operation.

The action follows an interim order issued by the Special Tribunal to preserve assets of approximately R900 million that were allegedly unlawfully and irregularly paid out by Tembisa Hospital.

The operation was initiated by the SIU and the Curator, with support from the South African Police Service and the Johannesburg Metro Police, among others.
