Community Remembers Officer Thai
On this day in 2022, Las Vegas Metro Officer Truong Thai was shot and killed in the line of duty near the Las Vegas Strip.
Officer Thai and others were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance near Flamingo and University Center Drive when a man began shooting at officers. Officer Thai was struck and later died at Sunrise Hospital.
Earlier this month, the man accused of killing Officer Thai was ruled competent to stand trial. He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
