Free State Girls Tennis Team Finishes as Runner-Up
The Free State girls tennis team finished as the runner-up in the 6A Gardner Edgerton regional tournament, trailing only Olathe Northwest in the overall team score.
The team, which included players from singles and doubles, qualified for the state tournament by placing in the top six. Freshman Ward won the singles bracket.
“Everybody, top to bottom, played well today,”said Free State coach Aaron Clark.
The tournament featured eight other teams, including Lawrence, and was held at Gardner Edgerton High School.
