Two Crashes in Bethlehem Caused by Elderly Driver

An 83-year-old man from West Coxsackie caused two separate crashes within minutes of each other on Friday, resulting in one fatality.

The first crash occurred at 12:46 p.m. on Route 9W, near Church Road. The elderly driver was driving north and crossed into the southbound lane, sideswiping another vehicle. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.

However, just two minutes later, at 12:48 p.m., the same driver was involved in a second crash on Route 9W, near Wemple Road, which proved to be fatal.

Related incidents include an 85-year-old driver charged in a deadly crash in Pittsfield and a 95-year-old man crashing into a home in Voorheesville.

No official statement has been released regarding the fatal crash.
