Priority safety upgrades to begin on key Queensland freight route

Prioritized Safety Upgrades for Key Queensland Freight Route

Safety upgrades are set to commence on a crucial Queensland freight corridor, which accommodates up to 15,000 vehicles daily.

Planning is underway for a series of road upgrades along the 60-kilometre Warrego Highway stretch between Toowoomba and Dalby, notorious for its poor crash history.

Delivered under the Targeted Road Safety Program, the project aims to implement cost-effective, high-impact safety improvements, including the aforementioned upgrades.

The design was completed in September, with construction scheduled to start in late 2025 and continue into 2026.
