Lewis Hamilton came close to breaking Schumacher's record of seven drivers' championships during the 2021 season, only to be denied by Max Verstappen.
Verstappen has since won four or more titles, joining a handful of drivers in Formula 1's 75-year history.
- Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna won seven titles between them.
- Nigel Mansell won a championship the year after Schumacher's debut.
They unfortunately didn't come close to winning seven championships before retiring...
There's still a chance that Verstappen could add to his tally this season.
