Trainee Solicitor Banned for Helping Murderer Flee

A trainee solicitor, Husna Khan, has been banned from working in law firms regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for assisting her brother, a murderer, in fleeing the country.

Khan, who has been employed in the legal profession since 2020, helped her brother, Khayam Khurshid, evade prosecution for murder by hiding him in a hotel and then leaving the country with him between 12 and 20 August 2020.

The conviction "posed a risk to public confidence in the solicitors' profession," according to the SRA.
